Chairman's Message from Aura Art

Cultural infusions and inclusions to indigenous Indian art have made Delhi an artist's haven with iconic structures, intricate carvings in wood and stone, gold and silver threaded muslin, cuisines, music and dance of durbar halls and paintings and sculptures commissioned by royalty. Art in Delhi has been an inspiration to some of the most talented people in the country and world over.

It is therefore important that in this capital city, Asia's biggest Trade Fair on Interiors, INDEX, has chosen to step in with an exposition of total home / office decor solutions, inclusive of Fine Art. Its exclusive Fine Art Section, The Art Enclave, organised by Aura Art Development Pvt Ltd, is what every art lover in Delhi would be attracted to. The Art Enclave has by now completed 6 successful years at the INDEX Fair in Mumbai.

Now, in its first year in Delhi, The Art Enclave offers the finest works of artists of various genre. The variety and good quality of works go to indicate the effort taken to create the paintings and sculptures most suited for home / office decor. It is worth noting what an art lover said about The Art Enclave in Mumbai: It's a laudable effort that Index and Aura Art have initiated to create The Art Enclave which will provide an integrated platform to reach fine art out to interior designers and architects from across the country. This platform will enable them to engage and collaborate with a spectrum of artists and bring good quality art to their projects, whether homes, offices, hotels or even hospitals.

No home should pose blank walls or lonely corners, for these are ideal locations to project the family's culture, humanity and refinement. And what better opportunity can there be than to make art do the talking on your behalf. In all my years of being associated with art, inaugurating shows and interacting with artists, I have come to understand that every piece of good artwork conveys a strong message, silent though it may be. As the American realist artist, Edward Hopper said, "If you could say it in words, there would be no reason to paint."

I trust the works of the artists participating in The Art Enclave at Delhi will make the show a success with their compelling, heart warming, yet subtle messages!
